Butterflies fall under the order Lepidoptera, which has typically beautiful wings and fly during daytime. Butterflies rest at night time; they are identified by its clubbed antennae. The most prominent butterflies around the world are Swallowtails and Birdwings, Skippers, Whites, Blues and Copper and Nympalids. Some butterflies are Exotic in form, others are dull colored. The other species classified under Lepidoptera are Moths. The life cycle of a butterfly or moth is as follows:
Butterfly/Moth produces Eggs; Eggs turns to Caterpillar then to Pupa and Pupa into New Butterfly or Moth. The insects falling under Lepidoptera need warmth in order to fly. Most of the species prefer a body temperature around 30 to 35 degrees. Lepidoptera are Cold Blooded; they are designed to depend on particular flowers, plants, trees etc for their life cycle. Butterflies of different species are spread around each and every continent. Some migrate from one spot to another; some are seasonally active. This group world butterflies is meant to create a Worldwide Data Bank of Butterflies for the purpose of research, exhibition, education and a platform for Photographers who specialize in Butterfly shots. World butterflies accept Images, Technical Datas, Arts of Butterflies, Cartoons of Butterflies, Sketches of Butterflies, Article on Butterflies, Poetry and general writings on Butterflies including Photo-Journals.
